So it's still on the table.Bridgetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12843150280542615265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2226876762714358061.post-63423095067362111272010-08-26T22:24:09.461-04:002010-08-26T22:24:09.461-04:00Bridgett, glad to hear you're thinking about i...Bridgett, glad to hear you're thinking about it. Is your deck raised above the ground? My chicken houses have always been a little raised, and the hens love to hang out underneath, out of the rain, for shade and dust baths. Of course they also need a bit of sunny space. But a couple of hens don't need a lot of room.Eulalia Benejam Cobbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13247079657985430691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2226876762714358061.post-13792876386595133812010-08-26T18:40:52.715-04:002010-08-26T18:40:52.715-04:00I'd love to raise a few hens (in the city we c...I'd love to raise a few hens (in the city we can keep up to 4, with no roosters allowed). But my yard keeps getting smaller and smaller, with playground and summer pool and deck and so forth...we talk about this a lot, but I just can't figure out how we can do it. NEighbors have discussed opening yards with each other and letting hens run free, but there's one neighbor between me and the enthusiastic group, and I know he doesn't want chicken poop in his manicured lawn (or kid access to the same lawn). We go back and forth. I think eventually we'll get a couple of hens, but I'm concentrating on the vegetarian/vegan side of farming at the moment!Bridgetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12843150280542615265noreply@blogger.com
