Like you, I could give up meat in a minute, but don't know what I'd do without meat and eggs. Maybe the thing to do is to work towards better quality of life for all farm animals.Eulalia Benejam Cobbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13247079657985430691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2226876762714358061.post-62087891766148248382010-05-31T21:08:19.539-04:002010-05-31T21:08:19.539-04:00Thanks for writing this. It's comforting to know that I am not the only one who hates to see the poor little creatures on the side of the road. I have learned to divert my eyes so I won't have those images in my head. So sad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2226876762714358061.post-77026212899220292212010-05-12T09:52:42.710-04:002010-05-12T09:52:42.710-04:00funny how, as you say, calves are made for running...funny how, as you say, calves are made for running. and cows certainly are not.

no comment on veal.lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18055442432266567561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2226876762714358061.post-85239385537034753852010-05-10T19:36:17.187-04:002010-05-10T19:36:17.187-04:00Indigo, I agree that unless we become vegans it...Indigo, I agree that unless we become vegans it's hard to be clear about what we eat.

Bridgett, I've always thought that eating wild meat is about as good as solution to the dilemma as we can get: good quality of life for the animal, and super-healthy meat for us.Eulalia Benejam Cobbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13247079657985430691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2226876762714358061.post-64518492249700623112010-05-10T14:50:23.323-04:002010-05-10T14:50:23.323-04:00Deer, which I have no problem with. Not a dairy--a hog farm with some cows on the side. I don't know what they do with calves. I probably eat veal about once every half a decade (and usually as part of a great meatball). But I always hesitate.Indigo Buntinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11387698096732697805noreply@blogger.com
